I was very pleased with the effects of the 21- day cleanse.
I initially was looking forward to the relief of some bowel/colon
symptoms I was experiencing, but I ended up with many more
benefits as well. After the first three days I was surprised
by the overwhelming amount of physical energy that I had.
Truthfully, the difficult part was going back to eating
“regular” stuff. It has been a real challenge and has made
me realize just what I am putting in my body and the consequences
of processed foods. I have been trying to find the balance-
especially in this “on-the-go” world that we live in- but
I find myself going back to the fruits and vegetables more
often than I would have thought. It just doesn’t seem worth
the sluggishness that I feel after eating the more convenient,
fast food way.
For me, there was a rich spiritual lesson to be learned.
One night, in my weekly women’s Bible Study, we were discussing
the importance of raising children with an appetite for
Godly things so that when they are out on their own, not
only will they crave Godly things, but they will have grown
to know the benefits of pleasing God. Most importantly,
they will respond with such a strong aversion to sin because
it is not familiar or desirable to them. I was in the middle
of cleansing on that night and I definitely agreed, but
it wasn’t until after I had finished the cleanse that I
had a real understanding of the depth of this principle.
During the cleanse, I was enjoying the benefits of eating
well and certainly was not tempted to have much else- I
genuinely craved the good stuff (yeah I was surprised too).
The transformation that I had undergone was even more evident
when I had “freedom” to eat whatever- after I finished the
cleanse. I find myself not just craving the taste of good
things, but I also crave the natural high that my body benefits
from. I also have an aversion to the physical effects of
eating poorly. It was a great experience- oh and the weight
loss was a nice bonus too.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND CLEANSING!
